Class Descriptions and Details

 

PUPPYGARTEN 

Puppygarten is designed to offer young puppies (8-24 weeks) a safe environment for learning how to socialize with other puppies of similar age but of different sizes and play styles.  In Puppygarten, your puppy will be exposed to other friendly puppies, friendly strangers (puppy guardians), toys, tunnel, platform, scooter, balls and most likely children.  We provide an enriching play zone for their mind and body.  This class is focused on the important aspects of socializing but will also introduce beginning skills like SIT, DOWN and STAY.  

We will discuss puppy rearing topics such as potty training, mouthing, jumping up, chewing and crate training. 

Vaccination Requirement:

Proof of one DHPP vaccine

Should you be concerned about enrolling your puppy before all of their vaccinations are completed?  Here is the published position statement from the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior.

There are no refunds or make ups so please plan your schedule carefully when registering.

We suggest that you enroll as soon as you bring your puppy home!  You are enrolling for 6 classes but you are welcome to add more if you'd like.

6 Classes, 50 minutes: $225

Additional Classes: $37.50ea (PENDING SPACE AVAILABLE)

*Our classes fill up quickly but we encourage you to register anyway.  We will contact you with your start date as a spot opens up.

MANNERS 1     

BEGINNING SKILLS  

Manners 1 is for puppies and dogs 4 months and older who needs....well, manners!  This class is perfect for our Puppygarten graduates or anyone who wants to learn beginning skills towards a well mannered pup. This class also introduces Canine Good Citizen (CGC) skills for those looking to accomplish that title.

Lot's of small moist treats (we will talk more about this in class)

A Mat for Settling (bathmat or towel work fine)

Poop Bags

Water for you and pup

Stuffed Kong or chew (for your pup to help settle while listening to trainer)

Flat buckle collar, Martengale or Harness (NO Chokes, Prongs or Shock collars allowed)

6 Foot Leash (NO retractables)

Vaccination Requirement:

Proof of one DHPP vaccine

MANNERS 2     

INTERMEDIATE SKILLS

Manners 2 is best for graduates of Manners 1 class.  In Manners 2, you will build on foundation skills previously taught and have some fun with an introduction to tricks!

To Participate: 

You should have completed Manners 1, have had previous group class experience or are trainer approved.

What You Will Learn:

Impulse Control (Sit/Stay and Down/Stay)

Focus on Guardian with Distractions Present

Sitting for Petting

Greeting Strangers

Greeting Dogs Politely

Loose Leash Walking Through a Crowd

Supervised Separation

Long Lead Recalls with Distractions

Follow CGC Test Requirements

PUPPY SOCIALS! 

 

TAKING RSVP'S FOR DECEMBER 12th & 19th ACTIVE ONLY, SHY IS FULL

and JANUARY 2nd BOTH SHY AND ACTIVE.

NO SOCIALS NOVEMBER 28

We offer puppy socials in Willow Glen. 

9:30AM-10:30AM SHY Puppies/First Timers: All first timers will meet with the shy puppy group unless otherwise advised by the trainer.

11AM-12PM ACTIVE Puppies: All puppies that have been to our socials before and are comfortable and actively playing with the other puppies.  Some first timers may go in ACTIVE puppy group upon approval of trainer.

To Participate:

You must register or have approval from trainer.  All dogs participating MUST be dog and people friendly.  This is NOT a place for socializing reactive dogs.

Please register (one time only) and you will be contacted with more information.  Once you are in the system, you can simply RSVP each time you want to join.

Vaccination Requirement:

8-15 weeks, at least one shot series

16-24 weeks, complete shot series

Rabies and spay/neuter NOT required to participate

Class Duration:

$20 cash, 60 minute 

Pre-pay is welcome via PayPal
